Episkopi Village is about a 15 minute drive from Limassol on the Old Road, the B6, but is easily accessed from the A6 motorway.
The centre of the village is a mix of traditional old Cyprus and the new, with just a few shops and a couple of tavernas.
The ancient city of Kourion, first constructed in 5BC, is only a short drive away, with the Kourion Ampitheatre, built in 2BC being its most spectacular feature which overlooks Episkopi Bay from the cliff top. It was once used for animal-gladiator fighting. It became a theatre before being abandoned but is now in regular use again for plays and theatrical performances.
Several other remains of buildings left by the Romans can be found there too making it an interesting visit. Excavations continue in the area and there are big hopes that there will be more significant 'finds'.
